Title
The’ Kerrang’ title is a trademark of the company, this logo
is on every single issue published and is also in the exact same place as from
the previous issues. The colour of the font is usually black or white as this
will stand out from the rest of the front cover. By having the title in the
same position it suggests that the magazine is based around the magazine month
after month but it will have different content inside. The title looks cracked on this issue which gives a sense of onomatopoeia.
List of Bands
The list of bands on the bottom of the magazine is for
informational purposes, the list of bands is a brief summary of what is in the
magazine. They also have the same size and colour font as this suggests that
the artists are all equal in the magazine.
The Main Story
The main story of the magazine of this issue is Biffy Clyro,
the image is bigger than the rest of the content on the magazine as this will
take up a lot of space on the front cover. It has been put in the middle of the
magazine as they are the main story in the magazine. The group band has been
used as a background of the magazine but overlaps the title but the other two
band players behind the title, making the main player of the group to jump out
of the magazine and to also show that is more important. Even though it blocks
part of the title the customer still know what brand of magazine it is as they
have the same layout in every magazine issue.

The main headline on the magazine is in white big bold
letters to make it clear to the customers and to make it stand out but the
writing underneath the main headline is also in white letters but is in
capitals to make it stand out as the font is smaller. The words anchor the
image as it is the main feature.

magazine to attract the customers to buy it as these are called Freebee’s. This
is extra content that the magazine is giving away to help sell the magazine and
to compete with other magazine company’s.

The barcode is also important to the magazine as they are
used in the sale of the product. The barcode has been positioned in the corner
to stay out of the way from more important content and also it is the last
thing that the customer would want to see on the magazine.

The ‘NME’ brand logo is the trademark of the company as this logo is published in every same issue, it is in the exact same position on every magazine they publish. The logo is in bold capital letters and has the colour read and an outline of white around the letters to make it stand out more. This is always the same in every issue. This suggests that the magazine is based around the same principles but with different content month after month.

It is a brief summary of the artists featured in the magazine and is for informational purposes. They are in capitals and the same size font to stand out to the customers and to show that they are all equal in the story popularity. The ‘&’ on the front cover is bigger in font to stand out to the customer and to make it eye catching because it has got extra bands in that issue.
The Main Story
The main story for this issue of the magazine is clearly Julian
Casablanca’s as is has an enlarged photo of him to take up a lot of the canvas
to show that he is the main story. The image of him overlaps the logo of the
magazine but also acts as a background. The customer would know what magazine
it is because it is popular.

The main headline is big bold letters to stand out and to
make it clear on the page. The words anchor the main image on the front cover,
but below it has the same font but not in capital letters as it still stands
out but not as important as the main headline.
The Barcode
The barcode is important to the magazine as this is how they
sell their magazines. It is positioned in the bottom right hand corner of the
front cover to stay out of the way of other content that is more important in
the magazine. It is place in the corner so it is not eye-catching because the
customer does not want to see it.
