Evaluation Question 1

                                                                  Evaluation Question 1
Title – when doing research for my magazine I noticed that all of the title of the magazine was at the top of the front cover, they were also bright and bold so it could catch the reader’s attention. I have stuck with the white text and red background to catch the readers eye when they are in the shops. This colour also fits with my house of style throughout the magazine as this is also a bright colour for my pop genre.

Mise-en-scene of image – The mise-en-scene for this image shows a mid-shot of the artist and the piano and to make it go from light in one corner to dark in the bottom corner. It looks like the artist is really focused on the music that he is playing and wanted to show that in the picture as this is to show the expression to the readers. This is making sure that the audience sees what instrument the artist plays and who the artist is.
Costume and Props – For the costume and props I had to consider the models wore the same style of clothing to my target audience as the reader would know straight away that it is a pop magazine. I also had to consider about the props as there are many instruments to uses for pop music so I used a variety if instrument and other props to expand and the range of the pop music instruments. I think it worked out in my magazine as the different instruments make it look more interesting to the reader.

People – I mostly used younger people for my photos as the audience that normally buy a pop magazine are the younger generation, but I have used a older model as he looks like a pop star with his hair style and what he is wearing. I had to take this all into consideration to make the audience more attracted to the magazine.

Title font and style – The title is big and also bold that stands out to the audience, it is also bright which makes it eye catching to the audience but the name is also easy and simple to read is the audience is just passing by the magazine when it is on the shelves in the shops. It is also easy to remember is the audience wants to talk about the magazine. The colour for the title also goes with the rest of the magazine colour.
Written content- I have made the first letter larger and the first line is a bit smaller than the rest of the text on the double page. I have also included a by line at the top of the double page to tell the reader who took the picture and who wrote the story. The story is also neatly spaced out so it is easier for the reader to read the text without getting lost in the sroty.

Music genre and how your magazine suggests it- The music genre for my magazine is pop and the way that this suggests it has real pop singers in the magazine and that people would reconise the singer straight away and know that this is a pop magazine. All of the names are completely different from what can be found in a rock magazine or other generes as theses names on my new artists would help the audience know that it is a pop magazine.

Layout – The title, pictures ans headlines and sub headline are all in the right place to make it look proffesional. All of the text and images are all seperated to make it easier for the reader to read the text and look at images without and difficulty. The text is also bold and bright for the reader to see easier. The contents page has been split into three collums to also make it easier for the reader to read, the threes collums also separate the page up and page numbers is so the reader will be able to find the page quicker and easier. The layout for my DPS is different as my DPS image has been spread across both pages so the reader know that both pages are linked to the same story but also the image takes up most of one side of the page as the picture is the most important as so the reader can get a clear understanding of the artist.
Contents page – I have the title contnets in the top left hand corner to let the audience know that this is the contents page and it is big, bold and bright so it stands out ot the reader. The colour of the title goes with the colour scheme with the rest of my magazine to make it more interesting. I have also put page numbers so the readers know where the story is and it is quick and easy for the reader to find the story, the page number colours also go with the colour scheme to make it look mor interesting. I have added pictures on the contnets page to make it look busy but the collums separate it out and make it look organised, this shows the readers who some of the artists are before the reade the story.
